Propulsion Test Engineer — Cryogenic Systems

What the role is responsible for.

• Define test objectives, sequences, and abort criteria for cryogenic component and engine testing.
• Specify and commission instrumentation — pressure, temperature, flow, strain — and own its uncertainty budget.
• Conduct hazard analysis and lead the readiness review for each campaign.
• Direct the test crew during operations and act as test conductor when assigned.
• Reduce, interpret, and publish results internally, including the runs that failed.

What we need you to bring.

• Six or more years in propulsion test, cryogenic fluid systems, or an equivalent high-energy test discipline.
• Practical cryogenic handling experience and a serious relationship with the associated hazards.
• Data acquisition and instrumentation depth, including sensor selection and calibration.
• Comfort acting as the person who calls a stop.
• Eligibility for sponsored Secret vetting.

Useful, not essential.

• Experience with methalox or hydrogen systems.
• Familiarity with automated test sequencing and interlock design.
• Background in propulsion component design as well as test.

Who you would be joining.

Propulsion Test operates the El Segundo stands and supports remote facilities on campaign. The group is small, hands-on, and runs on written procedure — every deviation is documented before it is executed.
