Neuroadaptive Interface Engineer

What the role is responsible for.

• Own the technical direction for neuroadaptive sensing and the closed loop it feeds.
• Establish the validation standard for state inference, including its false-positive posture.
• Lead a mixed team of hardware, signal processing, and human-factors engineers.
• Define, with Ethics & Governance, the limits on what an inferred state is allowed to actuate.
• Bring designs through to a form robust enough for operational rather than laboratory use.

What we need you to bring.

• Twelve or more years in biosignal engineering, neurotechnology, or human-machine interface development.
• Track record taking a sensing system from laboratory to field conditions.
• Depth in signal processing and applied machine learning for physiological data.
• Experience leading engineers across hardware and software boundaries.
• Eligibility for sponsored Secret vetting.

Useful, not essential.

• Regulated medical device development experience.
• Background in aviation or operational human factors.
• Publication record in neuroergonomics or adaptive automation.

Who you would be joining.

Neuroadaptive Systems is a cross-disciplinary group on the Cambridge campus, working with Autonomous Systems on the governance side and with Aerospace on the operational side.
